I chose Universitatea Babes-Bolyai because I like Transylvania very much, because it's so international, and also this university is itself so international: study programmes in Romanian, Hungarian, German and English. This international university is very fascinating for me. So I wanted to come here because I like foreign languages, I like meeting other people and I think this is the best place for me to study at. I am a Thai student. I have lived here for a year or so. I have chosen Romania because I study Economics and the year I came was the first year that Romania had joined EU. It is very interesting for me to learn how Romania adapts itselft so that the economy can be better and better. One Thai teacher who was invited to visit Babes-Bolyai 20 years ago wrote a beautiful book in romantic style about Cluj and Bucuresti. She wrote that every country has twin cities: the capital and the cultural city. Italy has Rome and Venice, Russia has Moskow and St. Petersburg and Thailand has Bangkok and Chiangmai, like Romania has Bucuresti and Cluj. Cluj is a beautiful cultural city which people have to see.
My responsibility is to make a Master's degree in Economics at Babes-Bolyai, but my days here also give me many other interesting things that I shall never forget as they are my valuable experience at Babes-Bolyai.
I will forever appreciate the kindness of my friends, my teachers and, certainly, that of the people of Cluj. For the suggestion, I actually think that the way everything's going here is now very nice as it's probabile and, for sure, it will be better and better. One thing I would like to see is that I hope one day the far relationship between Babes-Bolyai and a university in Thailand will be connected to each other.

What I like about Universitatea Babes-Bolyai is that students have more options concerning the academic programmes and they are allowed to express their own opinions. The professors are very open and take students' opinions into account. What is interesting is that each faculty has its own building, and are scattered all around the city. The main thing is that each of these faculties has a library and students are allowed to sit in those libraries to read and study even during the session of exams.

I love the programmes of study here. During courses I can meet students from all over the world. Thus, we get to know different cultures and this is so very important to me. I am glad I had the opportunity to come and study in Cluj because it is a university city. The students are the most important part of the population here. This is a very nice place for me to be in. Around Cluj, there are many places for tourists to visit, so my friends and I can travel to other towns, too. It's very good because we get to know Romania better. And here people are very nice to us and they are interested in Chinese culture. The question I'm asked most frequently is whether I like Romania, if I like Cluj. So, people in this city care about what other people think. In my opinion, this is the great thing about Cluj. I very much enjoy the fact that I get to choose which courses to study for at the Faculty of Letters. This semester, I'd like to know Romanian language and culture. During these courses I'll get to meet Romanian students and I will be able to make many friends among them; I also want to study harder. I can only study in Cluj for one year, so every minute spent here it precious to me. I will never forget it.

Enfin, j'ai choisi la Roumanie parce que j'ai mon cousin, j'ai d'autres amis qui font la Médecine, la Pharmacie. Ils m'ont dit qu'il faut venir en Roumanie parce qu'on peut étudier et comprendre les cours et il y a beaucoup de praytique. Les professeurs sont très compréhensifs, ils sont gentils, ils m'ont aidée. Il y a des collegues qui sont gentils, m'aident toujours, donnent des cours. Il y a des laboratoires qui sont très avancé, des matériels... Et ce qui m'a touchée c'est qu'il sont des jeunes qui font la recherche.

"I believe at BBU we most like the teachers. They are very friendly. We like the fact that studying at BBu we can get an internationally recognized diploma. The facilities for students are very good. We enjoy meeting many students from other foreign countries and also that we can learn English. Our faculty [Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences] organizes cultural events where we can better interact with our colleagues and discuss. Cluj-Napoca is also very beautiful. Back home in Astana we do not have such old buildings."
