Tutoring is a system and a programme meant to offer support and counselling to students in order to facilitate their integration in the higher education, offering advice in their choosing the appropriate didactic, cultural and social options that are specific for the student life and to encourage the sharing of student knowledge and skills, improving academic achievement.  The tutoring system encourages students’ communication and trust regarding the University and academia.

Being a tutor

11. The appointed tutors can be teachers, full time doctoral students and last year masters students.  [It is not imperative that the tutor is also  engaged in teaching activities, the two attributes being unrelated in any reference tutorial system.The tutor shares his experience with the student by supporting him from a personal, extra-academic point of view, with a view to a successful academic development. ]
12. Tutors can lose this quality if withdrawn unilaterally and with discretion by the dean's office, without the requiring of any justification.
13. Tutors are morally and professionally flawless people, who must have adequate verbal and written communication skills, the capacity of listening and willingness to provide the student with the needed help or assistance. Tutors are people who accept unconditionally to provide students with their knowledge, skills and (especially) with their experience.
Tutors have the duty to promote equal treatment, to favour equally all the students issues they are confronted with, to respect diversity in all its forms, in particular the cultural and social ones.
Tutors are required to respect the full confidentiality of information acquired and communicated during their guidance/counseling of students in matters pertaining to their person.
Tutors keep records of the main issues discussed non-confidentially with the students and offer reports and evaluation on their activity to the coordinators appointed for each major, year and line of study.
14. Tutors must be available to students, in the precints of the faculty, in the specified room and according to the specified and clearly displayed schedule for 2 hours per week.
