The publishing house is recognized by the C.N.C.S.I.S. and supports teachers who wish to publish their work.

Cluj University Press is a department of the Babes-Bolyai University, whose main activity consists in publishing books and periodicals as well as the creation of specific works in various collections:

Since 1997 Cluj University Press participated in all editions organized with the National Book Fair. Cluj-Napoca, with the National Book Fair in Alba Iulia, with the Gaudeamus annual book fairs, with the traditional Universitaria fairs of academic offers, with other manifestations taking place in Bucharest, SibiuIaşi,Timişoara, Oradea etc., as well as with important international book fairs such as the book fairs in Budapest, Frankfurt, Leipzig.

A confirmation of the prestige of this publishing house and of the quality of the works edited here has been given by the accreditation and placement of Cluj University Press Publishing House in second place (after the Romanian Academy Publishing House) in the scientific books publishers classification created by the National Council of Scientific Research of Higher Education, a ranking drafted in 2001, and the publisher still retains an important prestige today.

Cluj University Press does not have a juridical personality and functions in a self-financing regime.

The main purpose of the Cluj University Press is publishing academic science books, thus fostering both scientific and cultural life and enhancing the prestige of the Babes-Bolyai University. One of the principles of our activity was represented, from the outset, by the permanent orientation towards teachers, towards the scientists community who provide through their efforts, the reputation of academic research in the country and in the entire world.

However, our activity is not confined only to the editing process itself. Each year we organize book launches and also participate in contests, fairs and specialized exhibitions both across the country and abroad.

Objectives:

  1. editing, printing and dissemination of scientific and academic books with maximum professionalism
  2. shifting from publishing author projects to publishing complex integrated projects
  3. expansion of the UBB bookstores chain in the big universities centres where the University owes colleges and not only
  4. increased accessibility of the UBB chain bookstores by their central urban positioning
  5. diversification of the forms of books dissemination by addressing the on-line sales segment
  6. increasing the visibility of the publishing house by participating in book fairs and book national and international exhibitions
  7. developing partnerships with similar academic publishers both Romanian and foreign
